- Julia Chapman
Julia chairs the Fund’s Board.
Julia is a solicitor who qualified in England and Wales and who worked in Jersey legal firms from 1991 to 1999 before becoming a partner/shareholder in Mourant Group and being General Counsel for Mourant International Finance Administration (an organisation where she had responsibility for risk and compliance oversight of third party administration services to a range of private equity, infrastructure and real estate funds and structured finance vehicles with assets under management in excess of US$170 billion in the Channel Islands, the UK, the US, Ireland, Singapore, Luxembourg and Hong Kong). From 2010 to 2012 she was the head of pan-European team of legal and corporate secretarial professionals responsible for internal legal affairs and corporate and regulatory governance in the alternative investment services division of State Street Corporation in respect of its Jersey and Luxembourg fund administration services. Julia is currently an elected member of the Jersey Funds Association and its legal and technical sub-committee dealing with legislative, regulatory and practical issues facing the Jersey funds industry locally, and is a member of Jersey Finance’s working party on the EU AIFMD Directive. Julia is also a director of a small number of Jersey domiciled European and Nordic buyout/ development capital funds and two Cayman global macro strategy hedge funds listed on the Irish Stock Exchange.
- Sonita Alleyne
With a background in broadcasting and journalism, Sonita has also held a variety of board memberships and non-executive director posts in respect of organisations involved in the arts and media sectors. She was a non-executive director of the Department of Culture, Media and Sport from January 2000 to December 2005, and was Chair of Sound and Music from November 2008 to September 2011 which is a National Arts organisation and during this time was one of the top 20 Arts Council England funded charitable trusts. Sonia currently holds a variety of portfolio posts:
Founder, Yes Programme (March 2013 – present); a Trustee – BBC (November 2012 for a term of 4 years); Member of the London Legacy Development Corporation (March 2012 – present); Non-Executive Director – Archant Limited (Feb 2012 – present); Non-Executive Director – The British Board of Film Classification (Oct 2009 – present); and Member of the Court of Governors at the University of the Arts (Mar 2008 – present). Sonita’s achievements include representing the creative industry on bodies such as the National Employment Panel and London Skills and Employment Board. Through external activity across the sector, she is in a position to gain influence and recognition for entities with which she assumes a role.
- Trina Channing-Rudd
Trina joined Whitmill Trust in 2014 and heads up the Corporate and Funds Administration department with primary responsibility for the corporate, private equity and real estate structures. Trina was educated in Jersey, first embarking on a career in accounting, before moving into Trust and Company Administration and subsequently Funds. Prior to joining Whitmill, Trina was a Manager in the Real Estate department predominantly working on large corporate structures comprising of JPUT’s, SPV’s and Partnership vehicles within a large alternative investment fund service provider and forged strong working relationships with both her clients and intermediaries. She has undertaken professional studies, attaining a distinction in the Diploma in Fund Administration, specialising in Private Equity and Real Estate Funds and has recently embarked on the IoD Chartered Director programme, successfully attaining the certificate level in September 2018.
